Wherever We See

MAHADEV SHAHA

Wherever we cast our eyes, rivers, fields, forests and grass of Bangla
We memorize you, Bangabandhu again and again
When we see at the serene waters of moon-light-clad lakes
Somebody tells me again and again
I hear your name in the melodies of the birds’ everyday
Your voice brings courage to everybody’s heart
Your footprints can be seen in the banks of Padma River
It seem to me you have come back here again
Your voice rings in the songs of the flutes of the rakhals
Your picture remain vigilant in the hearts of everyone of Bangla
You are like lake full of water and field full of paddy
You are as if fragrance of flower, songs of morning birds
The sky is distressed for you, the winds are pathetic
You are a heart filled water bodies of this Bangla.
