Siddique Mahmudur Rahman is an eminent author, researcher, translator, editor, publication specialist. He is pioneer in studying on Postal History and Postage Stamps of Bangladesh. He published 9 books on postal history and postage stamps of Bangladesh and was awarded 6 prises from USA, Australia, South Korea and Indonesia. He has six translated works. He has specialty in translation of Bangla poems.
Siddique was born in 4 September 1946 in Jessore. His father Fazlur Rahman worked in DPI and Foreign Service, wrote a few book of poems, mother Sajeda Rahman, a graduate from Shantiniketan, was a housewife and an authoress. Siddique had his school education from Kolkata during 1953-65, as his father worked in the then Pakistan Deputy High Commission there. Siddique had BA in 1969, but could not complete MA due to Liberation War. He had his BEd degree in 1978 and MA in English in 1980. He published ‘Asian Voice’ a pen-friendship magazine during 1966-1980. He worked in establishing Danbir Hazi Mohammad Mohsin High School at Murali, Jessore. Siddique worked in different organizations in administration, printing, publishing, editing and translation during 1980-2006. Since boyhood Siddique was a prolific writer and a successful translator. He published some remarkable books.

He organized stamp exhibition in Jessore in 1976 and was associated with all philatelic exhibitions of Bangladesh, specially in the First Bangladesh National Philatelic Exhibition – Banglapex 1984, First SARC Summit 1985, and Bangladesh National Philatelic Exhibition -Banglapex 1992; he edited Banglapex Exhibition Souvenir, 1992.

Siddique launched a literary and research website www.trulybangladesh.com in 2005.
